About Field Engagement Visits for RHL Holders

The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) is conducting field engagement visits as part of a pilot initiative for Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL) holders in 2026.

These visits are voluntary, educational and supportive. They are designed to give technicians the chance to connect directly with ARC Field Officers, ask questions and share experiences from the field.

This is a pilot program, focused on learning what works well and where we can better support technicians into the future.

What the field engagement visits are about

The visits are intended to support technicians by:

• educating them on best practices, empowering them to reduce emissions
• reinforcing understanding of regulatory requirements and licence conditions
• identifying knowledge gaps to understand how to further improve the program.

The focus is on conversation, learning and improvement.

The pilot will primarily focus on RHL holders who are not affiliated with a Refrigerant Trading Authorisations (RTA).

How to book a field engagement visit

RHL holders can book a field engagement visit by emailing RHLprogram@arctick.org. Selected RHL holders will also be contacted to arrange a suitable time for a visit.

Participation is encouraged. Your feedback will help shape how this program develops and ensure it delivers meaningful support to technicians across the sector.

What to expect during a visit

A field engagement visit is informal and tailored to your work. You will have the opportunity to:

• Talk through your day-to-day work with an ARC Field Officer
• Ask questions about licensing or regulatory requirements
• Discuss any challenges you face on the job
• Check that your equipment and documentation meet regulatory requirements
• Share ideas on how education and engagement could be improved.

There is no need for extensive preparation. The visit is about learning from each other and making the program as useful as possible.

After the visit, you will be invited to share feedback through a short survey to help us improve future engagement.
